Mug Hug — Voice Hugs × Slow Studio

A hug you can hold.

Four years ago, when we started Voice Hugs, we had a tiny dream: to take that warm, cozy, hug-like feeling and put it right into your hands. Mug Hug was one of the very first ideas that came to us—and it took until now, and our 100th (!!) podcast episode, to finally make it real 🥺

We teamed up with Michelle (@byslowstudio), a local ceramicist whose cozy, grounded presence felt like home for us. Every set is individually thrown and hand-painted by her, after a year of prototyping and sending countless “what should be the smiley face placements??” and "is the curve too curvy?" texts. Soo much love lives in every single piece.

For the design, each mug sits snug inside a chunky bubble coaster that wraps around its base and holds it, well… like a hug 🤭 Six little colorful smileys dot the outside, which is a gentle reminder to from us to smile through all seasons of life, along with a nod to our thank-you card — a symbol of our gratitude for your support all these years. And there's one last delightfully hidden smile inside the cup, matching your pink coaster, waiting to greet you at the bottom of your favorite cozy drink 🍵

Your set comes with: one handmade stoneware cup (holds ~12oz) and a pink bubble coaster that hugs it perfectly

A note from our ceramicist, Michelle: Every Slow Studio piece is made from a mid-fire stoneware clay, and finished with a food safe glaze. Due to the nature of handmade ceramics, slight variations may occur — each piece is truly one of a kind!

• Cup: 3.5" H × 3" W / Coaster: 5" × 5"
• Gentle handwashing is recommended to ensure longevity of the piece. Please avoid dish washer, microwave use, and sudden temperature changes
• We made a very limited quantity for this very first batch, but we hope to make more in the future
